Taylor grew up at Epworth and has been invested in its vitality through every phase of her life. Following her high school career at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham, Taylor matriculated to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education Adapted Curriculum. Taylor returned to Concord in 2017 and accepted a position at North Rowan Elementary as a Special Education teacher where she served for five years.
Taylor's infinite love of animals and a much-needed respite after public education COVID took her from the school yard to the barn yard. Spending time working on her aunt's farm and doing some soul-searching has brought Taylor full circle; she'll bring her love of learning and championing children from every background to establish the Ark at Epworth.
When asked what the Ark will provide for children, Taylor responded, "To me, education is an opportunity to help kiddos become the best versions of themselves. My hope is that 'The Ark at Epworth' will be a place where children grow in their faith, independence, confidence and academics. Where they feel supported, and loved and free to be themselves."
In her 'free time' Taylor is working towards becoming a certified dog trainer through CATCH: Canine Trainers Academy. Just like Noah, Taylor takes care of lots of animals; 4 dogs, 3 cats, 18 chickens, 2 ducks and a 75-gallon fish tank.
FUN FACT: Taylor was a licensed teacher in Belize before she was officially licensed in the US. She spent 6 weeks teaching there .... "an opportunity of a lifetime."
