Sensory Solutions is a sensory clinic and gym, owned by Life Touch Therapy, PLLC. It's operated by Katie Bailes-Bailey, who has 10+ years of pediatric therapy experience. Our clinic is located in the heart of Concord at Epworth United Methodist Church on Burrage Road; in close proximity to Atrium Health.
Sensory Solutions is a multi-functional sensory gym where clients can come to explore, play, regulate, exercise, grow and learn. Our passionate and skilled therapists all have at least one thing in common: our favorite occupation is PLAY!! We enjoy utilizing our sensory swings, obstacle courses, activity tables, strengthening equipment, arts and crafts stations, puzzles, manipulatives, and so much more!
Sensory Solutions is operated by our very own Katie Bailes-Bailey who has been practicing since 2009 and has been with LTT for nearly a decade. Opening a space where children and their families can come try out equipment, play and explore in a safe environment has been Katie's dream for a long time. Sensory Solutions makes it possible for families to find new solutions for their children's sensory seeking or avoiding behaviors through the passion and one-on-one work of Katie and her talented therapy team.
Katie earned her Occupational Therapy degree from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences where she graduated with honors. After a brief stent in the field of geriatrics, Katie was given an opportunity to explore the home-health side of therapy and working with children.
In her 10 years with LTT, Katie has become an expert in sensory subject matter with a wide range of clientele including, but not limited to, children with Sensory Processing Disorders, Autism, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and various behavioral diagnoses.
Katie's approach to working with children is to focus on their goals and strengths, despite their diagnosis. She highlights a child's special interests and uses those to engage children in ways that will benefit them.
Katie helps children become more independent in skills like dressing themselves, handwriting, school-based tasks, feeding, themselves, community integration and behavioral needs. She is especially endeared to children who struggle with sensory needs.
Katie is passionate about educating families and caregivers on the importance of sensory integration. Because of Sensory Solutions new clinic, she is able to effectively model how to implement these ideas in practical, real ways. Her top priority is to give every family she works with the tools they need to be successful so they can be as happy and productive as possible.
When Katie isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her spouse and the son they share (while chasing around two puppies). Her hobbies include trying new restaurants, supporting local businesses, running, reading, and spending time in the yard. She loves a good challenge and is always up to learn something new. Katie was a pre-school teacher for two years and is intermediately fluent in Spanish.
