Matthew 22:36-40
Shop & Share was established during Covid as a way to share food with our neighbors. The walk-up food pantry is located outside our main entrance. We encourage folks to take what they need and share what they can.
We are honored to be in partnership with R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary in Concord. We have donated school supplies, assisted with cafeteria balances, adopted students and their families for Christmas and helped out with R. Brown's clothing closet as-needed.
During Advent we decorate a Christmas tree in our common area with the names of neighbors who need a little help through the holidays. We've adopted Meals-on-Wheels clients, local families, and nursing home residents.
Epworth is committed to providing and serving dinner to guests of the night shelter for two weeks during the year. It's a privilege to serve a meal and spend time at the Center of Hope.
Epworth has been packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child for a long time and we LOVE it! It's a meaningful way to get children and families involved in doing ministry together. OCC amps up in the early Fall and we typically fill about 200+ boxes. We also volunteer at the distribution center in Charlotte and help get boxes ready to ship to children all over the world.
Our student ministry piloted Backyard in 2016. For a week during the summer we pitch tents on our back field and go out each day to serve in our community. We build wheelchair ramps, mentor younger kids, worship, do yard work, odd jobs and random acts of kindness.
