I am from the GREAT state of Ohio, born in Marion, Ohio.  During high school I was the accompanist for all choirs, ensembles and the orchestra.  I also had my own piano studio on a music store for 4 years during my high school days.  I received two  4 year scholarships, one to St. Louis Institute of Music and also Oberlin Conservatory of Music where I attended for 1 year.  I felt God was leading me into nursing rather than music so I attended Lima Memorial School of Nursing in Ohio and nursed a year until our first child was born.  Later I nursed part time and began my own piano studio in Concord.  I met my husband Ike while at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and were married soon after.  We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren and I love them all.

I have had the privelege of serving the youth of Epworth for close to 10 years.  I love putting youth in the mission field and helping them find ways to love their neighbors simply by being aware of what's going on around them.  Doing small things with a kind spirit can make all the difference in the world.

As far as education, I am a 1974 graduate of Miss Mary's kindergarten class at Main St. United Methodist Church in Kernersville, NC.  I learned my shapes and ABCs and to say please and thank you and those things have served me better than any other education I pursued.  Additionally, I hold a BA in English from UNC Charlotte with a minor in Communications.  See?  Kindergarten way more impressive.

I am quick-witted, chronically late and have way too many t-shirts.
