Children and Family Ministries

And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.                                                                                                                               – Micah 6:8

Throughout this year, we are going to have a variety of activities for children and families on different nights and days.  As a result, we will not meet every Sunday night.  Stay tuned to the schedule each month as I plan things to get the children even more involved in seeking out their passions and discovering what a special creation they are.  Our focus for the year will be on how God has built them for a purpose.  We will be looking at how they are on a journey with God and with each day they grow in Him through reading their Bibles, prayer, and serving Him.  In addition, we will talk even more about how right now they can and do make a difference for HIM.

 FEBRUARY   2 0 1 8

During the month of February we’ll be working on our ideas for the Young at Heart banquet.  We’ll continue to work on outreach projects like cards, care packages and painting love rocks.  There will games and challenges like trashcan basketball and indoor soccer. Get ready to have lots of fun in February.  See you on Sundays at 4:30.

Since it’s Superbowl 52, Team Jesus is challenging our congregation to help us collect at least 52 pounds of canned and non-perishable food for the CCM food pantry.  We’ll be stationed in the narthex on Sun. Feb 4; Superbowl Sunday to collect donations!

Fri. Feb 9 @ 5:30pm-8:30pm

Drop your kids off and we’ll keep them happy and entertained with arts and crafts, games, food and movies.  PNO is by donation with proceeds supporting the 2018 Summer Mission team.  Be sure to sign up on Mrs. Teresa’s bulletin board or send an email to: epworthchildren@ctc.net

Sun. Feb 25 @ 5pm

Children and Family Ministries invites you to our Young at Heart banquet on Sunday, Feb 25 at 5pm. This is an opportunity for our children to honor all those who have mentored us in our faith.  We’ll happily serve our guests dinner and provide some stellar entertainment as well.  Please RSVP by calling 704.786.6183 or see the sign-up sheet posted outside the church office.

Mon June 11 – Fri.  June 15

The deadline to register for day camp at Camp Mt. Shepherd is Feb 9.  Children who are rising 1st-6th graders are eligible.  We will leave Epworth at 7am daily and return by 6pm. Camp Mt. Shepherd (Asheboro) offers camp activities like swimming, archery, hiking, canoeing and bible study. Mt. Shepherd is surrounded by beautiful woods and even has its own lake.  In addition to Epworth’s day camp partnership with Mt. Shepherd, there are other camp experiences available throughout the summer.  Registration information and descriptions of camp weeks can be found on their website: www.mtshepherd.org

The Flock is the pre-school supported by Epworth UMC.
