Worship, Pray, Serve, Love
Through our many fellowship groups we grow closer to God as we grow in our love for one another.
If you enjoy eating out with friends this group will appeal to you. The Fellowship Group meets the first Saturday of each month and visits various area restaurants for an evening meal. The fellowship that is shared around the tables is where many strong friendships have formed.
Good Times Club
This group of mostly seniors meets monthly on the second Monday at 10:30 a.m. Some months the group meets at the church in the Widenhouse Building and enjoys short devotions and business meeting, a program and a covered dish lunch. Other months the group takes a trip in the church van to visit museums, art galleries, go shopping or to a special restaurant. The group is always looking for those who have some free time to come join them and welcomes all ages.
United Methodist Women
A very active part of Epworth is the United Methodist Women. General meetings are held once a quarter where all the members of the various circles come together as a unit for a program, planning and fellowship. The major emphasis of the United Methodist Women is their focus on missions—-particularly missions pertaining to women and children. The subgroups or circles at Epworth offer a more intimate place for the women to live out their faith by their actions and in support of one another. Epworth currently has 4 circles:
- Chaney -Corzine Circle meets the third Tuesday of the month in the Widenhouse Building at 1:00 p.m.
- Florence -Allred Circle meets the third Tuesday in a local restaurant in the evening.
- Houck-Readling Circle meets the third Tuesday of the month in the Widenhouse Building at 7:00 p.m.
- Jenkins-Jones Circle meets the third Thursday of the month in members’ homes at 7:00 p.m.
United Methodist Men
The men of Epworth are also very involved in mission work, This group of men meet monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the Widenhouse Building. The men share devotions, a short business meeting and a variety of programs ranging from informative programs about health care issues, home care issues and ongoing ministries at Epworth to having outside speakers who bring things of community interest to the group. The United Methodist Men also have a Sweetheart dinner in February as well as a dinner in December which is shared with their wives. The men hold several fundraisers during the year which help to fund the myriad of missions that they support throughout the year. This group of men vary in age and occupation but share of love of God and of doing meaningful work together.
